Studio KIND was founded by Karen Nairstone to pursue her philosophy that interiors with people and good design at their heart can bring joy to our daily lives.
Passionate about good design, Karen has worked in the design sector for over 20 years from design-led retail and curation, to interior design and creative direction for commercial, place making and residential projects.
Following 14 years curating and producing the Northern Design Festival which won her the Homes and Gardens award for Best Backer of British Design; Karen founded multi disciplinary practice Studio KIND.
With an extensive team of associates from architects to furniture and graphic designers, each project is embedded in research to understand people’s needs and wants, cultures and behaviours.
From inspirations and motivations, to needs and functionality; these elements are considered and explored to develop inspiring spaces that nourish and bring joy to their inhabitants, whether at work or at home.
