Opencast Head Office

A collaboration with Xsite Architecture, we  worked with all staff to identify needs and design their new flagship head office with spaces to come together and collaborate, both in person and digitally.

The colour palette and layout of the office was designed to create interest and a sense of a ‘journey’ as you move through the space, with alcove seating, perch points, private booths and cafe-style spaces adding visual interest and different rhythms throughout the space.

Mineral motifs were used throughout as a soft brand communicator – from David Irwin’s mineral fabric upholstered walls in the booths; to terrazzo worktops in the canteen, and mineral shaped signage for lockers and rooms. We worked with a number of local creatives, including Deadgood, Vic Brooks, David Irwin and Josie Brookes who we commisisoned  for a series of 24 original artworks to add personality to the space and provide content to align print and digital to the interiors.

“The design here has become part of Opencast’s DNA. It has helped provide the perfect home for our people to collaborate and socialise, which contributes to the growth of our culture in tune with the Opencast way of doing things.”
